Job overview

It’s an exciting time to be working in Lambeth Children’s Centres, delivering services and support to children aged 0-4 and their families across a local ‘Better Start’ area.

Lambeth Children’s Centres are managed by five lead schools, supported by the local authority. Partnership working with health services, early help and social care, and a wide range of voluntary sector organisations is well established, and ensures that there is a strong offer for Lambeth families.

Staff work in area based teams, with opportunities to work in a number of different children’s centres and other sites. We currently have a vacancy in the Brixton Stockwell Better Start team and are seeking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic person who is passionate about the role of children’s centres in improving the lives of young children and tackling inequality and disadvantage.

Lambeth Early Years and Family Practitioners deliver the early years’ services to young children and their families.

  • You will be knowledgeable about the early year’s foundation stage and passionate about delivering high quality early year’s services to young children.
  • You will also be committed to working collaboratively with parents and carers to improve outcomes for children and families.
  • You will work part of an area team working at different sites throughout the week to ensure quality services are provided throughout the Brixton Stockwell area.
  • We will provide you with support and training where required to further develop your knowledge and skills.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
