Dipont Education is seeking an Early Years/Primary Specialist Academic Leader to assist with the development of curriculum, support teaching and learning and provide training for teachers within our growing network of independent schools.

The successful appointee will be based in Dipont's head office, in central Shanghai, reporting to the Deputy Director for Early Years & Primary.

International and bilingual education is at an extremely exciting phase of evolution within China - with the aim to combine the best of Chinese and international educational practice. About the Role

Our head office education team (comprising of 18 specialists) support all schools across our network. The successful applicant will liaise with senior leaders and teachers to ascertain support required and training needs. Helping to nurture a positive ethos with a focus on the well-being of staff and students is crucial to the role.

Workshops on both pedagogy and curriculum will be delivered for both Chinese and international teaching staff, with specific coaching and mentoring when required. Another integral aspect of the role is to be involved with an ongoing quality assurance process within our independent schools.

Our bilingual schools deliver half of the curriculum in English and half in Chinese utilising international pedagogy and resources. Support and training will be provided for the successful applicant in the content requirements of the Chinese National Curriculum (compulsory between Grade 1 and Grade 9). You will also  support the development of curriculum for our international sections (delivering a programme based on the English National Curriculum).

There will be a requirement for some travel within China and the role provides a great opportunity to truly explore and experience both Chinese culture and educational practice.

Salary levels are very competitive with a benefits package that includes: accommodation allowance, annual return airfare, annual bonus and worldwide medical cover. Cost of living is favourable and disposable income is high.

The successful applicant will need to demonstrate excellent classroom practice in outstanding schools, with the expertise and authority to guide and train other practitioners in both curriculum delivery and pedagogy. An understanding of the needs of EAL students will be essential.
