Job overview

The School

Rolfe’s Nursery School is an Ofsted Outstanding nursery school based in Notting Hill, London. Part of the Alpha Plus Group, we provide a Gold Standard education, preparing children for entry to prestigious London preparatory schools.

Our reputation is founded on our high standards and quality facilities, but also on the warm atmosphere throughout the nursery school. Our teachers are enthusiastic, caring and teach children a wide range of additional specialist subjects – such as drama, science, music, gym, French, ballet and art appreciation classes.

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Early Years Assistant to join our team.

Alpha Plus Group

The Alpha Plus Group - formerly Davies, Laing and Dick Education Group - was founded in 1931 and currently comprises independent schools and colleges. The schools and colleges within the group have developed a longstanding reputation for delivering premium quality education. Alpha Plus Group, owned by Delancey's DV4 fund, creates centres of educational excellence in our schools and Colleges.

Centres of Excellence

Each centre retains its own identity, with the Heads and Principals afforded significant management authority, but with the benefits of financial security, camaraderie and opportunities for sharing best practice by belonging to one of the country's leading educational groups.

The Role

This is a class-based, supportive position and will involve but is not restricted to the following:

  • Working as part of the school team to provide a safe, high quality early years environment for young children.
  • Working under the direction of the Head and to give support to the teaching team within the nursery school.
  • Supporting the existing teaching team with routines and organisational matters.
  • Monitoring children's safety through appropriate levels of supervision.
  • Commitment to continue to develop as a professional.

The role entails contributing to a high-quality caring environment for children, creating a friendly and stimulating atmosphere under supervision, in which the children can develop emotionally, socially and educationally through individual attention and group activities. Duties will include working with the children to meet the requirements of the EYFS framework and working as part of the team.

Requirements

To be considered for this position you must be willing to participate in other development and training opportunities. A relevant Level 2 qualification in a relevant subject e.g. Children’s Care, Learning and Development (CCLD) would be desirable but by no means essential.

Benefits

Aside from joining a motivated and cheerful team, employees enjoy a number of benefits, including:

  • Alpha Plus Group Personal Pension Plan
  • Laptop
  • Access to EAP
  • Extensive CPD opportunities, including access to free online training for over 40 courses

Safeguarding

The Alpha Plus Group and Rolfe's Nursery School are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and as a prospective employee you are expected to share this commitment. The protection of our students’ welfare is the responsibility of all staff within APG Schools and individuals are expected to conduct themselves in a way that reflects the principles of our organisation. This role is subject to a number of pre-employment checks, including an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service with Barred List clearance.

Equal Opportunities

We are committed to equality of opportunity for all staff and applications from individuals are encouraged regardless of age, disability, sex, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief and marriage and civil partnerships.

Application Process

Closing date for applications is 23:59 on 31 January 2021.

Interviews will be held remotely and will take place in the weeks commencing 01 February 2021.

About Alpha Plus Group

The primary purpose of the Alpha Plus Group is to develop excellence in education through well-directed investment and professional management. The Gold Standard is the Group’s vision of educational excellence. It comprises two dimensions:

  • Cultural - fostering high aspirations and expectations of staff and pupils, always recognising that excellence is a never-ending pursuit
  • Operational - robust governance through which schools, colleges and central services are simultaneously supported and challenged in their pursuit of excellence

The group recognises that great schools have their own identity and ethos and seeks to preserve such independent values. Whilst the interpretation and execution of ‘excellence’ may therefore vary across the Group, many elements, such as outstanding leadership, and passion and pride in teaching and learning, are common to all.
