What does the role involve?

In this role you will support children with their educational, emotional, and social development; working alongside the Nursery Teacher and other colleagues to help children reach their full potential. As an Early Years Childcare Assistant, you will support the learning of groups or individual children during sessions, following guidance from the class teacher.

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking an excellent practitioner who demonstrates patience in a range of situations, who can communicate effectively verbally and in writing and who can work collaboratively and reliably as part of a team. Experience of working with Early Years (0-5years) children would be beneficial, in addition to knowledge of how children learn including those with Special Educational Needs (SEND). The ability to ‘think of your feet’ is welcomed as flexibility is key to successful working with all stakeholders. We are ideally looking for a Childcare Assistant to work as a key person and as part of the Nursery team under the direction of the Nursery Teacher.

Waterfield Primary is a caring and diverse two-form entry school of approximately 376 pupils, set on a spacious and attractive site. We have a talented and highly committed team of staff and the development of staff is a key feature of our work. We collaborate closely with other local schools and schools across our Trust.

The Senior Leadership Team is an experienced and well-established group, which oversees key strategic areas of work in the school including monitoring pupil progress and the quality of teaching and learning. The Principal works with a talented and ambitious team, with excellent support from the Trust’s Head of Education and CEO.

The Collegiate Trust is a family of 8 schools, primary and secondary, located in the Croydon and Crawley areas, educating children and young people from 3-19 years of age with a clear vision to deliver exceptional education for all.

The Central Team is mainly based at Riddlesdown Collegiate, a large, outstanding (OFSTED, March 2023) secondary school in Croydon with a longstanding reputation for high standards and an exceptional education.
