Job overview

We are looking for an outstanding practitioner to teach one of our Early Years classes from September 2020. This post would be suitable for an experienced teacher or for a Newly Qualified Teacher. Cuffley School is a 2-form entry primary school in the village of Cuffley with extensive grounds. Our designated “Forest School” status provides excellent opportunities for children to enrich their learning experience onsite and in the local woodland areas nearby. We value our staff as well as our children and we focus on ways of supporting and developing our team.  A key focus is developing our practice to increase children’s achievement while decreasing and managing teacher workload. We are looking for teachers who share our ethos and are passionate about making a positive difference to children’s learning.  The positive start to our children’s education begins in our Early Years and it is here that we are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, innovative and inspirational Foundation Stage teacher to join our team. Our Early Years curriculum is firmly rooted in our belief that children should be learning through play-based opportunities which are delivered within a rich and stimulating learning environment.  We use ‘in the moment’ planning in order to fully engage our children and are always looking out for new and innovative ways to improve our practice. If you have a passion for Early Years practice and believe that our youngest children deserve a positive and stimulating start then you may be the teacher for us.

We can offer:

  • Happy, well-behaved, enthusiastic children who are eager to learn
  • A happy and hard-working foundation stage team
  • A strong and supportive leadership team and governing body
  • A positive, happy environment
  • A strong commitment to continuing professional development
  • Guaranteed PPA time in at least half day blocks with your partner teacher and subject leader release time
  • A laptop for use at school and at home
  • Coaching and mentoring
  • Positive attitudes and focus towards work/life balance
  • Extensive computing equipment (including year group sets of iPads, Chromebooks and laptops)
  • A school where the whole child matters
  • Our enriched provision offers children a range of activities within the school day, including Forest School and Karate
  • A teaching assistant in each class

In return we are looking for teachers who are:

  • Exemplary in their teaching
  • Highly organised, motivational and flexible
  • Inspiring and reflective in their classroom practice
  • Creative and dynamic in their approach to teaching and learning
  • Committed to high standards of achievement, progress and behaviour for all
  • Good team players
