About you
As leader of our Early Years team, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the department to ensure we deliver the best quality classroom experience for our students. You will have high standards and expectations in every element of your work.
To be considered for a vacancy, you should:
- Hold a good bachelor’s degree and PGCE qualification from a reputable UK university.
- Have several years of experience of teaching and leading in an Early Years setting, either in the UK or in a British international school abroad.
- Have solid experience leading, directing and developing teams of teaching and support staff.
- Demonstrate outstanding knowledge of continuous provision and EYFS.
- Be keen to develop your career, supported by our world-class professional development opportunities.

About us
Our primary school – currently comprised of about 1,000 students – is a vibrant, fun and multicultural place of learning. It offers an engaging and warm environment, where children and staff alike are encouraged to investigate and develop their curiosity.
In Early Years, our students enjoy a thematic curriculum delivered through continuous provision, plus specialist lessons for Arabic, Islamic Studies, PE and Music. Our class teachers are highly trained in programmes such as Talk 4 Writing and Read-Write-Inc, which we use to enrich the children’s learning.
In addition to teams of six teachers and six support staff in FS1 and FS2, there are more than 60 teaching staff and 24 teaching assistants across the whole of the primary school. We are a stable and long-serving cohort, and we enjoy what we do.

About Qatar International School
Qatar International School is a British International private school located in Doha, the capital city of the State of Qatar. The school follows the latest National Curriculum of England and Wales for students ranging between 3 and 18 years of age.
The school is led and managed by British professionals and it strives to maintain the highest standards of the current British education system, whilst also supporting its Arabic culture and international context.
Our long and illustrious history traces its roots back over 40 years to 1977, making us the oldest British International School in Qatar. Under the leadership of our Executive Principal, Deane Baker (who joined us in September 2013), we have achieved various national and international accreditations at the highest levels. The vast majority of teaching staff are UK-trained, and the school prides itself on ensuring it keeps up to date with the best international practice in education and learning.
In 2001 the school moved to its current, purpose-built campus in the Diplomatic Quarter of Dafna, close to the skyscrapers and business centre of West Bay. Here, under the ownership of the founder’s son, Sheikh Khalid bin Ali bin Ahmad Al Thani, the school continues to thrive – expanding and developing its excellent specialist facilities. These include science laboratories, ICT suites, a swimming pool, playing fields, and a large sports hall.
Our student body is truly international, with over 60 different nationalities represented within the current cohort. While the teaching staff are predominantly from the UK and the curriculum is taught in English, the school is adept at integrating students from a wide variety of cultural and academic backgrounds.
