Job overview

Early Years (FS2) Teachers, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES

Garden City British School (GCBS) is a new school due to start operations from September 2017 with classes from FS2 to Year 6. We are keen to receive applications from teachers with experience of the EYFS curriculum.

THE SCHOOL

As a primary-only school, Garden City will be unique as there are very few similar schools established and running in Al Ain. The school will follow the EYFS and National Curriculum of England (2014) alongside Ministry of Education subjects such as Arabic, Islamic Studies (Muslim students only) and UAE Social Studies which are compulsory subjects for all private schools in the United Arab Emirates.

The GCBS campus will boast excellent facilities including technology-rich classrooms, multi-purpose sports hall, 25m swimming pool, outside sports/play areas and specialist teaching rooms. Students will have ample opportunities to engage in enrichment activities involving discovery, innovation and enterprise.

We anticipate attracting students from a variety of nationalities alongside a faculty of teachers qualified and experienced to deliver the National Curriculum of England.

Garden City British School will be managed by Creative Education Services (CES), an educational service group operating various schools in the UAE including Al Basma British School (www.albasmaschool.ae) where education is exciting and fun, based on inquiry, investigation and problem solving that prepare students for life in this complex and changing world.

THE PLACE

Al Ain (meaning The Spring) is the second largest city in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and the fourth largest city in the United Arab Emirates. Al Ain is often called the ‘Garden City of The Gulf’ given the many oases, parks, tree-lined avenues and decorative roundabouts. The city is on the Oman border and is approximately two hours drive to both Dubai and Abu Dhabi. As a developing tourist destination, the dry desert air makes Al Ain a welcome retreat from the coastal humidity of the larger cities. A highlight is the drive up the mountain road to the top of Jebel Hafeet, treating you to sweeping views of the arid splendour.
