About us:

The International British School is a 3 to 16, co-educational international school. We are a friendly, family-centered international school with approximately 500 students from KG to Y12. The school has excellent facilities and is located in Fahaheel, 25 minutes south of Kuwait city.

The opportunity:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and inspiring Early-Years Head of department for an immediate start. The successful candidates will be highly skilled, and child centred. This is an excellent opportunity to join a friendly and welcoming community in a school that has recently successfully passed its OFSTED and has a great future.

Skills: 

- Degree and teaching certificate (PGCE Early years 3-7) from the UK (preferable)

- Min 10 years experience in a  British or international school and at least 5 years in a similar position

- Preference given to British nationals


Qualities: 

 - Be an effective and dynamic leader with a proven track record 

- Have previous experience of Headship of at least one Early-Years Department

- Have some experience of leading a department through inspection, having significant impact during the process

- Be able to demonstrate a comprehensive and confident knowledge of student achievement, curriculum and assessment

- Be able to demonstrate successful experience of leading and managing staff through an inspection

- commitment to students and staff well-being

- Be able to demonstrate genuine passion towards the wider co-curricular life of a school

- Be confident in team and resource management, strategic planning and decision-making

- Be an excellent team player
