We are looking to appoint an inspirational Early Years Teacher (EYFS) or Primary Teacher (KS1) to join our team. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced teacher (ideally M5-M6) to shape and lead pedagogy within our setting.

Little Angels, established in 1991, consists of two privately owned settings, each with approximately 70 places for children aged 5 months to 5 years. We have two Pre-School classrooms, one in each of our settings, and classes usually consist of 13 children, aged 3 to 5 years. Both nurseries are well resourced and have outdoor spaces for learning and play.

For those experienced or interested in SEND, we would offer the opportunity for a SENCO position, which comes with an increased salary, as indicated above.

Job Outline

The role involves leading pedagogy in the setting; planning and implementing a curriculum based on the EYFS which supports children’s learning and development. The teacher works with the support of a small teaching team which includes a part-time Teacher and a Teaching Assistant. They are responsible for working with practitioner teams and senior members of staff across both settings to ensure effective implementation of our play based, child-led curriculum throughout the nursery. In addition to planning and directing sessions in our dedicated teaching room, responsibilities include running weekly planning meetings, assisting and occasionally leading Inset training days, maintaining children’s folders, carrying out children’s observations on our bespoke in-house system and writing transfer records. The teacher will also be expected to assist practitioners, maintain best practice and encourage sustained shared thinking between adults and children.

Above all, we are looking for a creative and innovative teacher with a passion for learning.

You must have a Bachelor of Education, PGCE or QTS to be considered for this position, and an excellent command of written and spoken English.

We can offer:

· A free childcare place for one child (up to 5 years old – equivalent to up to £17,496 net per annum)

· Holiday:

Little Angels is open 49 weeks of the year (the nursery is closed for two weeks at Christmas and one at Easter):

   - Christmas and Easter are paid in full, as well as any remaining bank holidays.

   - An additional 3 weeks holiday, which can be taken throughout the year.

   - A four day work week but paid for five: In lieu of standard school holidays we  offer our teacher every Friday off work, paid, with non-contact time and curriculum planning carried out within working hours.

   - The above holiday entitlement results in a total of 180 working days per annum (Islington has 195 working days in the 2018/19 Academic Year).

· Ongoing professional development opportunities and the chance to be part of a dynamic leadership team

· Business Parking Permit

· School meals cooked by our chef on site
