About Long Close School
Long Close School is celebrating its 85th anniversary this year. Throughout our history, we have cherished a close-knit family community, where we ensure no more than 15 students in any class, fostering extremely strong relationships between students and teachers. Our bespoke, skills-first approach to academic excellence prepares students to thrive in the rapidly evolving 21st-century world.
For 85 years, PEGASUS has been our steadfast motif. This majestic, winged horse from Greek mythology represents beauty, inspiration and the pursuit of excellence. Today, PEGASUS also defines our distinctive educational philosophy, encouraging every child to altiora petimus — to soar higher without limits.
Our students are happy, confident, and well-rounded young people who love being part of the Long Close family, and we are proud to inspire the leaders of tomorrow.
