We are seeking a suitable candidate to join our dedicated team of staff in the Early Learning and Childcare setting.

The ideal candidate will have recent experience of working with young children in a structured context. This post is rewarding and requires an energetic, thoughtful person who is able to work as part of our team in a caring, learning environment.

For appointment at G4

You should have a good general standard of education including literacy and numeracy. You are also required to successfully complete a relevant qualification to allow registration as a Support Worker (Day Care of Children) within 3 years of taking up the post.

For appointment at G5

You should hold a recognised qualification that enables registration with the SSSC as a Support Worker (Day Care of Children), e.g. NC in Early Education and Child Care or SVQ Level 2.

You must be able to register with the SSSC as a Support Worker (Day Care of Children) within 6 months of appointment.

This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with children.

St Andrew's Primary School is a forward thinking and outward looking primary school situated in the East Mainland of
Orkney, overlooking Suckquoy Bay in Toab. It serves the parishes of Deerness, Holm and St Andrews, together with the village of St Mary's. The school's commitment to 'excellent education for all' is central to its vision.Built in 1995 and extended in 2002-2003, the accommodation consists of eight classrooms around two communal areas together with a large general purpose room. The administration block comprises a medical room, general purpose room and large hall. Upstairs there is an open class area and a computer room.
