About the role:  We are currently looking to appoint an Early Years Teacher to join Oaks Primary Academy in Reception from June/September 2017 on a maternity cover contract. This is a fantastic time to join us; the Academy has gone from strength to strength and to continue that development, we are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated teacher to join our team!

Please see the Job Description attached for further information.

Working for Oaks Primary Academy:  Oaks Primary is a small Academy with approximately 160 pupils on roll and an additional 21 pupils in our Nursery. We are very proud of our school and the hard work and positive attitude of all our pupils and staff. Teaching areas are both safe and well maintained, providing a stimulating working environment for pupils. We are continually striving to improve our facilities in order to enrich our pupils experiences.

The teachers and support staff form a very strong team and work closely with the Governing Body and Leigh Academies Trust to promote high standards throughout the Oaks Primary. Parents provide invaluable voluntary support throughout the academy and there is a well-established PTA, which provides a programme of fundraising activities throughout the year.

The Academy teaches a broad and balanced curriculum which is enriched by a wide range of extra-curricular activities. It is our aim to provide a happy, safe, and caring community, where everyone is encouraged and supported to achieve their goals.

What are we looking for in you?  To be successful you need to be a qualified teacher who is passionate and knowledgeable about your subject and possesses the ability to teach consistently at an outstanding level. Whether you are at the start of your career or an expert teacher we focus on what attributes you will bring to the academy and most importantly what impact you will have on our students.

As a Trust we feel it is important to hire for the right attitude which is why we look for teachers that are enthusiastic, focused and resilient to the day to day pressures that teaching brings.

Being part of Leigh Academies Trust:  As part of Leigh Academies Trust you will have the opportunity to collaborate with your peers and share best practice at Academy level and across the whole Trust.  This is an important part of our vision as we know through experience that we perform better when we work together.  You will also be expected to undertake regular self-development to continue your professional development and hopefully progress further within the organisation. As part of the 'cluster' structure, all of our academies are grouped together in key geographical area to enable them to be able to support each other and share resources.  It also offers staff access to career opportunities across the Trust allowing them to progress their career without switching employers.   For more information on working for the Trust please visit our careers pages

Diversity at our core:  As a Trust, we are passionate about diversity and recognise that as individuals we all bring something unique to the role regardless of age, gender, race, beliefs or disabilities which is why we treat all of our people equally, without compromise.

The academy is committed to safeguarding children and successful candidates will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check.  Our commitment to safeguarding is underpinned by robust processes and checks which are in place across the Trust.
