Job overview

Abberley Hall School is an Independent Co-Educational Boarding and Day School for pupils aged 2.5 to 13 and is part of the Malvern College family of schools.

The Prep school (age 8 to 13) is predominantly a boarding school. The Nursery and Pre-prep departments are for day pupils only. It operates in and around a Victorian country house, which is set on a hillside amongst 98 acres of woodland. The site is a mix of historic buildings, modern classrooms, sporting and arts facilities. These are all connected by corridors and many stairs.

Abberley Hall is currently recruiting an Early Years Teaching Assistant to support our youngest pupils with their learning and development, both inside and outside the classroom.

Working with our Pre-Prep team, this is an exciting and rewarding role to support the Pre Prep staff to enable the learning activities of pupils.

This post involves significant contact with children and the post holder will have shared responsibility for children. The post holder will be considered to be in regulated activity.

Abberley Hall School exists to provide a quality all round education for pupils aged 2 ½ – 13 and is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Candidates must be prepared to undergo child protection screening and an Enhanced DBS check.

You will be required to provide proof of your identity, right to work in the UK and qualifications during the selection process. We may seek references on short-listed candidates that will include questions about past disciplinary actions or allegations in relation to behaviour with children and may approach previous employers for information to verify particular experience or qualifications before interview.

ISI report

"Caring and supportive staff have created a welcoming environment where children can achieve well in line with the school's values and ethos, and develop their skills appropriately. The well-resourced outdoor play areas, including the Nursery garden, enable the younger children in the Nursery to engage in imaginative role play and adventurous physical activities. All children respond well to the staff's expectations of them and, as a result, they are enthusiastic and motivated learners."
