Economics Teacher (Potential for Subject Lead/TLR)

Newstead Wood School

Required for September 2022

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspirational Economics Teacher or Subject Leader. The successful candidate will be a key member of our PPE Faculty. There is the potential for a TLR to lead this subject area.

Economics is taught at Alevel and follows the Edexcel specification. It is our most popular University subject choice, with some students taking Degree Apprenticeships in related fields too. This is a fantastic opportunity for a well-qualified Economist to work with some of the highest calibre students in the country.

Our school allows professionals to really enjoy teaching their subject to some of the most enquiring minds in the country. Enrichment opportunities provide a perfect complement to the taught curriculum.

Due to the tight deadline, we encourage applicants to apply promptly as we will call candidates for interview as soon as we have a field. If you are able to teach a second subject, please also mention this in your application.

This position would suit a newly qualified teacher who can see potential in making their mark in our outstanding grammar school or a more experienced teacher looking to inspire the next generation Economists.  A willingness to contribute to our extensive enrichment and extra-curricular provision is highly encouraged.

Further information about our Economics Curriculum  can be found here  and Entry Requirements for our Sixth Form can be found here.

Newstead Wood School is forward thinking and dynamic school and we would welcome any potential applicants who would like to visit the school prior to interview.

We are proud to have flexible working embedded into our culture and are willing to discuss particular requirements with applicants as required.

You will be able to demonstrate the professional and personal qualities necessary to consistently inspire our highly motivated and very capable students across all three Key Stages, 3 to 5.

The successful candidate will:

• Be an outstanding, organised and committed teacher

• Have a great understanding of the formal Economics curriculum as well as the wider aspects which would form part of our enrichment and extension provision.

• Be able to stimulate and engage students

• Be creative, determined and enthusiastic
