We are Cambridge University Press & Assessment, a world-leading academic publisher and assessment organisation and a proud part of the University of Cambridge.

About the role

As the Content Lead you'll be at the heart of content creation. You will support authors, manage freelancers, and ensure successful development of designated content- whether it's print, digital, or blended products. You'll uphold best-practice teaching methodologies and maintain rigorous quality standard throughout the publishing process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with cross functional teams, including commissioning, design, and delivery, to create exceptional content
  • Work indirectly with our curriculum team and various exam boards (such as Cambridge International and OCR) to support content implementation
  • Engage with external stakeholders, including authors, development editors, suppliers, and EDIB reviewers
  • Manage your own portfolio of projects from day one, while benefiting from regular project team meetings across different departments

What a Day in Your Role Might Look Like:

  • Determining suitable pedagogical features and instructional elements for content
  • Participating in author briefings meetings, fostering collaboration with authors and freelancers during content development
  • Ensuring alignment with best practices and quality benchmarks
  • Contributing to the success of education products that impact learners globally

About you

We are seeking an individual with an exemplary understanding of content structuring and the latest methodologies in content creation, couple with a deep insight into the education publishing sector. You will possess a robust editorial background, demonstrating hands-on experience and adeptness in author management.

You will have a track record of successfully navigating complex projects with multiple stakeholders, showcasing your ability to accommodate diverse requirements and priorities. Moreover, proficiency in maintaining project quality and exceptional communications skills is paramount, particularly when delivering constructive feedback with finesse. Previous teaching experience and a background in science and maths would be advantageous, but not essential.

If you would like to know more about this opportunity and what will make you successful, please see the full job description attached to the bottom of this vacancy on our careers site.
