Job overview

We are looking for two experienced Managers with a background in Education or Education Psychology to assist in managing our expanding Education Service in Leeds and London.

PAC-UK is the largest independent adoption support agency in the country. Our vision is that all people affected by adoption and other forms of permanence are supported and enabled to live their lives to the full.  Our Education Service works with children, families and schools to improve education experiences of adopted and permanently placed children.

Joining us you will: 

  • Act as Line Manager for the team of Education Advisors & Sessional Education Trainers. 
  • Hold an overview of, and take responsibility for, the day to day activities and service delivery of the Education Service in Leeds and London. 
  • Monitor and review the performance of the Education Service in Leeds and London, including preparing written reports about work carried out. 
  • Attend Service Level Agreement usage meetings as required and maintain an overview of contract use across the Education Service. 
  • Hold an overview of, and take responsibility for, applications to the Adoption Support Fund for the Education Service in Leeds and London, including monitoring and reviewing the costings and budget for all applications.  
  • Allocate and oversee incoming work including spot-purchased schools training and consultations.
  • Develop training and good practice materials on the issues of attachment, trauma and loss and their impact in school.  
  • Deliver training and consultation to school staff to increase their understanding of issues faced by many permanently placed children.  
  • Provide information, support and advice to families, schools and professionals about difficulties faced in education by children who have experienced trauma and loss difficulties.

To be successful you will have:

  • A professional qualification in the field of education/educational psychology and registration with the appropriate body.
  • Professional knowledge of child development and adoption issues
  • Experience of delivering training courses to parents and professionals

Salary: £34-£36,000 depending on experience  

Contract: This is a maternity cover post until the end of March 2018 

Working hours: Full-time and part-time hours will be considered, with a minimum of 21 hours/3 days per week required. 

Holidays: Leave entitlement is 25 days per annum plus bank holidays, pro rata for part-time employees.
