Job overview

This exciting role is a permanent position to ensure EK Outreach Services recruits first rate teachers and support staff. It results from an extensive growth strategy.

The successful candidate will oversee the entire recruitment process from development of job descriptions, writing and placing adverts, shortlisting, interviewing, managing the offer and completing associated administrative tasks.

You will be expected to develop creative sourcing techniques, source high calibre candidates utilising the appropriate recruiting channels and ensure best practice recruitment processes are adhered to specifically around equality and importantly undertaking Safer Recruitment Training to ensure all staff are fit to work with children and young people. Additionally, you will ensure that any of the leadership team with recruitment responsibilities are adequately trained in EK Outreach’s processes, follow best practice and understand the legal requirement around recruitment and selection and are also trained in Safer Recruitment. You will be expected to operate in line with our organisation’s inclusive values.

You will need to manage the implementation of EK Outreach’s recruitment initiatives to achieve our development plan objectives. This includes working with our HR and Finance Coordinator to manage the recruitment budget.

Working with the Head of Outreach and HR and Finance Coordinator You will be responsible for:

Ensuring a smooth, timely and cost-effective recruitment and selection process.

Sourcing high calibre candidates, ensuring headcount has been approved prior to recruitment.

Develop creative sourcing techniques to expand the talent pool of both teachers and mentors.

Researching and appropriate use of recruitment channels such as agencies, job boards, social media etc.

Manage and coordinate the selection and assessment processes including cv sifts, ensuring all resourcing processes meet legal requirements and are fair, fit and inclusive.

Work with Head of Outreach to create suitable job descriptions and adverts that reflect our values and are compliant.

Work with staff to ensure those actively involved in the recruitment process are adequately trained.

Maintain up to date knowledge on best practice recruitment and selection techniques.

Provide feedback to relevant parties at each stage of the recruitment process, liaising with relevant people.

Carry out all the administrative duties in the recruitment process such as logging application forms/cvs, organising recruitment timetables, arranging interviews, interview tests and distributing interview packs and shortlisting to interviewees.

Accurate and timely management of documentation and reporting.

Administer the process for new employees, for example,: prepare contracts, offer letters and pre-employment checks i.e. right to work, qualifications, DBS checks and references.

Provide constructive feedback to candidates after liaison with interviewees.

Coordinate handover of new employees or facilitate our induction.

Liaise with Head of Outreach, HR and Coordinators to ensure they are aware of start dates etc.

Production of a half termly report with updates on recruitment.

Sending out satisfaction surveys to candidates and managers.

Arrange and conduct exit interviews for all staff either face to face or electronically. Provide feedback accordingly.

Experience of recruitment in education.

Experience of writing job descriptions and adverts for a variety of positions.

Experience of providing constructive feedback to candidates.

Experience of recruiting in-house.
