As a Student Support Worker you will be able to:

  • Provide the highest standards of professional support to students.
  • Communicate with the students we support, using their preferred means of communication.
  • Promote and reinforce students’ self-esteem, social development and independence.
  • Provide direct care to all young people in line with agreed standards of care, to include personal hygiene, feeding and meeting their medical needs as required (after appropriate training and support)
  • Support students’ throughout the school day, in a range of subjects and activities such as Reading, Maths, ICT, PE, Swimming, Dance, Drama, Food Tech and Music​​​​​​
  • Prepare classroom as directed for lessons, and clear afterwards.
  • Provide administration support to the Teacher and Senior Teaching Assistant.​​​​​​
  • To support the use of ICT effectively in the classroom.​​​​​​
  • Establish good working relationships with students.​​​​​​
  • Support students’ in their physical, emotional and educational development.

Livability Education Victoria School, Nash College and Millie College (opening September 2022) are exciting, innovative and dynamic special school for students with physical disabilities and communication needs. Our vision is to be a schools/colleges where successful learning and high levels of achievement prepare children and young adults for fulfilling future lives.

We provide a broad, balanced and meaningful curriculum which is accessible to all our students and provides smooth progression and continuity from the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) through to Post 16 at Victoria School and both colleges are 16-25 provisions..

Our curriculum offer includes the National Curriculum where appropriate and additional elements which incorporate cross-curricular and enrichment opportunities, learning outside the classroom and out of school hours learning. The aim is to provide students with a rich curricular experience which enables them to develop the skills and competencies to live a full life and realise their potential.
