Education Welfare Officer

Starting Salary £26,470

37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Required –September 2019

The CAM Academy Trust is seeking to appoint an experienced Education Welfare Officer to support the pastoral care of its students. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of appropriate statutory legislation and understand the challenges faced by students and families within deprived socio-economic areas.

‘Excellence for all’ is one of the trusts core principles, we therefore recognise that students who face challenges that prevent them achieving consistently high attendance at school will find it difficult to succeed in their examinations.

The successful candidate will have the ability to provide clear professional advice on matters relating to attendance, safeguarding and wellbeing, be able to manage and prioritise caseloads to meet various deadlines and have the ability to work with families with complex problems.

As the trusts Education Welfare Officer, you will champion attendance across the four secondary and six primary schools within the CAM Academy Trust. You will provide advice to schools, stakeholders and parents of individual students experiencing attendance issues, whilst adhering to the requirements of the CAM Academy Trust and Local Authority formal processes.

The successful candidate will be highly organised, comfortable working at pace and to tight deadlines, and have the ability to make decisions with rapidly changing priorities.
