Job overview
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, efficient and proactive Education Welfare Officer to join our Student development Team.
You will be responsible for ensuring high levels of attendance by working to identify students and families who need support to improve students’ attendance, and where necessary enforcing relevant legislation to ensure students have the opportunity to fulfil their potential.
The successful candidate must have relevant experience in a similar role and possess a clear understanding of attendance procedures and statutory requirements in relation to safeguarding, child protection and GDPR in schools.
Macmillan Academy is situated in Middlesbrough on Teesside. It is a good school with 1500 students on roll including around 350 in the Post 16 phase. Our strong reputation for academic success is matched by our desire to provide a holistic education for every student.

The school was founded in 1989 as the Macmillan City Technology College, one of the first of 15 City Technology Colleges established in England. The school converted to academy status in 2006. and is now part of Endeavour Academies Trust.
