Are you an ambitious Educational Psychologist who is keen to make a significant contribution to the outcomes of some of the most vulnerable children and young people in the Southwest? Are you able to build effective working relationships with children and young people with complex needs, their parents or carers, as well as other professionals who work with them? Do you believe in giving front line professionals the information and support they need to improve provision for children and young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND)? Then this role is for you.
We are looking for an appropriately qualified Educational Psychologist to join our team. The role will include working closely with the children and young people who attend our schools, providing timely reports and guidance to professionals to enable them to adapt provision to meet their needs. The post holder will also be asked to support the outreach work of the Trust and will be required to build strong working relationships with providers from across Devon, Cornwall and Plymouth. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer of the Trust, the post holder will be part of the Central Trust Team. You will be joining a supportive team of colleagues.
This is a really exciting time to join us. Transforming Futures Trust’s core purpose is to improve the lives of children and young people with special needs and/or disabilities (SEND). The Trust itself has improved, with strong education and governance, and sound finances, with greater stability in delivering the best possible education for the children and young people in our schools
The Trust is made up of three, soon to be four, special schools that are dedicated to meeting the needs of pupils with social, emotional or mental health needs and/or on the autistic spectrum. Our settings span Devon, Cornwall and Plymouth. The Regional Director (formerly the Regional Schools Commissioner) has already approved our Trust to sponsor Mount Tamar School.
Initially the role will be home based with regular visits to our schools. Therefore, the successful candidate will be prepared to travel and be able to work from home. They should also be prepared to be adaptable as the needs of the Trust changes. The post is fixed term until March 2023 in the first instance.
