Regional Educational Psychologist.

Hours 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (we would consider part-time hours: 3 days a week 0.6).

Tes is currently supporting a friendly and supportive group of schools based in South Yorkshire. The school is looking to add a Regional Educational Psychologist to its progressive and supportive team ideally starting  ASAP.

The role will include managing casework across Secondary and Primary academies across South Yorkshire. Supporting Teacher and SENCo to evaluate pupil need and to deliver an effective educational psychology service by providing assessment, advice and guidance on interventions for vulnerable pupils including those with a special educational need and/or disability.

“We are looking to appoint an Educational Psychologist to deliver an effective educational psychology service to our trust group of schools within the South Yorkshire cluster (Barnsley and Sheffield area) by providing assessment, advice, and guidance on interventions for vulnerable pupils including those with a special educational need and/or disability.

You will:  

  • Be providing psychological advice and assessments supporting diagnosis, referrals to external agencies, and interventions.    
  • Developing and direct implementation of provision for students with SEND.    
  • Delivering a responsive consultation service for children, young people and families across the Academies within Sheffield & Barnsley    
  • Working as required on specific projects and working parties in accordance with the priorities set by the Trust.    
  • Supporting the implementation of appropriate legislative frameworks for pupils with SEND.    
  • Supporting the Trust to build capacity and effectively manage the risk of identified pupils.    
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of psychological interventions and provision pathways in schools. Support schools in the use of tracking and monitoring via Provision Map.”

The school expects:

• Relevant accreditation with British Psychological Society and be registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC)

• experience as an education psychologist

• experience working within secondary and primary schools

• understand the impact of the Children and Families Act 2014, SEND Code of Practice 2015 and statutory requirements for an Education, Health and Care assessment.

• and experience of managing case load across multiple school sites
