LexiaUK Ltd. is an expanding market-leading literacy skills software company who seek an Educational Software Consultant as part of a growing team. Applications are welcome from candidates with an educational and/or training background who understand the challenges schools and teachers face in this demanding profession. Experience in literacy skills theory/teaching is not essential as training will be given. 

As part of our office-based team, you will support primary and secondary school educators through our consultative sales process. Typically, this starts with schools taking an evaluation of our product which requires the Educational Software Consultant to support them with online training and support. Over the course of the evaluation period, a suitable package is advised and agreed. Although a ‘soft sell’, the role requires excellent time management and diligence in communications with busy teachers – a sales cycle typically lasting three months. 

Your responsibility will be to achieve sales by nurturing and closing self-generated leads and ones which have been provided. This will be achieved in a manner which is in line with the culture and esteemed values of the company. You will be able to demonstrate a desire and passion for education and an ability to achieve and exceed goals. Full training will be given on our market-leading product. OTE earnings are achievable and evidence can be provided at interview stage. 

Duties / Responsibilities:  

  • Take leads through the sales pipeline as quickly and efficiently as possible.  
  • Provide online consultations, demonstration and training sessions.  
  • Maintain close, regular contact with customers.  
  • Provide telephone advice and support.  
  • Give pricing information, negotiate and close sales.  
  • Develop new business through existing relationships.  
  • Maintain CRM with a high degree of accuracy. 
  • Meet/exceed targets.  
  • Occasionally visit customers and attend trade shows/exhibitions (requires overnight stays).


Role Abilities: 

Essential:  

  • Ability to adapt in order to meet the demands of this developing role.  
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal). Aptitude tests will be completed as part of the interview process.  
  • Good ICT skills – Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.  
  • GCSE Grade C or above in Maths and English.  
  • Required to take holidays out of school term time.  
  • Working with schools, you will be required to pass a DBS check.  
  • Desirable:  
  • Degree educated.  
  • Training experience and/or teaching/classroom experience.  
  • Knowledge and experience of how children learn to read.  
  • Experience with web conference presentations/training.  
  • Own car/clean driving license as on occasion you will be required to work offsite.
