Introduction to Bablake

Bablake School comprises Bablake Pre-Prep, which educates children aged 3 to 7, Bablake Junior School for children aged 7 to 11 and the Senior School for pupils aged 11 to 18.

Bablake has been nurturing children since 1344 and our 3-18 education is characterised by high expectations, rich opportunities and a mutually supportive community.

We aim to develop character, intellect and wellbeing within a happy, scholarly, caring community - educating and inspiring young people to lead full, responsible lives while helping to shape a better world.

We are committed to providing opportunities in which pupils can achieve more than they imagined possible. We achieve this rich, broad and stimulating education by balancing four strands: Pastoral Care; Academic Excellence; Co-curricular Enrichment; and Community Service.

Bablake celebrated a perfect 100% pass rate in last year’s A Level results and an impressive 49% were A* or A grades.

Our Co-Curricular Programme

Life in the classroom is complemented at Bablake by an exciting range of activities outside the classroom.

Pupils discover fresh talents, extend their learning, compete in competitions and experience a huge array of extra Sport, Music, Drama and clubs. They can take on leadership roles, support others and benefit enormously from a rich array of House activities and expeditions. The enjoyment and confidence that stem from it are as important to their development as their academic studies. It forms part of our distinctive commitment to give our pupils the best possible start in life.

There is a vibrant House system, in which happy participation is encouraged across the year groups through a host of activities.

In recent years, the School has reached national finals in netball and indoor hockey, while our rugby, boys’ and girls’ hockey, cricket, cross-country and athletics teams have been regular winners in local and regional competitions. There is a full and varied programme of visits and tours, both at home and abroad.
