The Institute of Applied Technology, based in the United Arab Emirates was founded in 2005 through Royal decree of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, Ruler of Abu Dhabi to offer Career-based Technical Education (CTE) in English at the secondary and tertiary levels. The vision is to produce the scientists, engineers and technicians needed for the UAE to build a knowledge based economy.

The Institute has grown significantly from five to fourteen high schools located across all the seven emirates of the UAE, in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Western Region, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm al-Quwain, Ras Al Khaima and Al Fujairah; and has its Directorate based in Abu Dhabi. They provide distinctive secondary school programs that integrate career and technical education with a rigorous academic core.
We are looking for an additional Applied Technology Electrical teacher, Abu Dhabi Campus for the new 2017/18 academic year.
Applicants should possess a minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering along with a Teaching qualification and minimum of 3 years post qualification high school teaching experience, OR 5 years industrial training experience.

Applied Technology High School - Abu Dhabi Male aims to provide a career-based technical education for its students. The school wishes to embrace technology. It has affirmed that it wishes for its students to be able to take advantage of technology in the form of iPads and iBooks. Students are also given the opportunity to watch podcasts of professionals in the work place, or explanations about specific topics. In addition, through its Learning Resource Centre, the school aims to provide students with access to resources and up-to-date information in both print and electronic format. The school’s Learning Resource Centre is intended to be a student-centred, dynamic learning hub, which provides the means to transform the students’ learning experience from a conventional one into an interactive, autonomous, one-to-one learning experience. Information Literacy sessions are also provided for students with the aim of developing their critical thinking skills and their ability to conduct research in a thorough manner. Overall, the school aims to offer a distinctive educational experience that integrates career and technical education and that has a rigorous academic core.
