The Sheikh Zayed Private Academy for Boys wishes to appoint an experienced and high-performing Student Counselor to join our Elementary Student Welfare Team.  You will work with students facing difficulties in their lives and provide them with the targeted support they need to become successful learners.  You will meet with children, individually and in groups; staff; parents; and, occasionally, outside agencies to ensure that our most vulnerable students are protected and supported.  Additionally, experience of safeguarding procedures and child protection programs in elementary schools is essential.  As well as subject expertise, you must be able to build and maintain excellent interpersonal relationships at all levels.  

Exceptional CPD opportunities are available, including the NPQML, NPQSL and NPQH in addition to GEMS professional qualifications.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in counselling or psychotherapy

• Relevant experience with children aged 12 years and younger

• A clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services check or police check
