We have an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to help develop the skills and aspirations of young people with SEND in Bedfordshire.  We have an Employ Me Caseworker role to work in partnership with education providers in Bedfordshire to deliver a Pre-Internship programme as part of Mencap’s Employ Me team. This role is full-time, fixed term until July 2023. Our programme offers a wide range of benefits, helping young people with SEND to:

Progress towards paid work

 

Working directly within the education providers premises, the Employ Me Caseworker will work collaboratively with the education providers to develop learners for transition onto a Supported Internship programme or into work. The support is intended to add value and enhance the chances of positive progression and ultimately of securing paid employment in the long-term for young people.

You will take a lead in Employer Engagement to create fun and engaging ways for young people to improve their understanding of job roles and sectors, including work tasters and work experience.


You will need the ability to work on your own initiative. Good interpersonal, problem solving and communication skills as well as the ability to work effectively with learners, employers, teaching professionals, parents/carers and is essential. The ability to maintain accurate and up to date records using IT based systems is also required. Ideally, you will have employer engagement and marketing experience - as an important aspect of the role is creating work opportunities for the people we support.

All candidates offered an interview for this role will need to provide evidence of their A-C GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) at interview stage. 


  

This role will close on 25th May and interviews will commence shortly after on Microsoft Teams.
