We are recruiting a Employment Specialist to work within Ambitious College based at West Thames College Campus. You will develop clear employment pathways for autistic young people in line with Ambitious about Autism's core values and strategic direction and in doing so ensure that our young people experience the world of work best suited to their individual needs.
Key Accountabilities:
- Understand the SEND national policy initiatives for young people and the impact of these on learners in the college
- Maintain and expand partnerships with employers to benefit our learners, this will include supporting employers knowledge of job carving
- Develop and implement individual employment related targets for learners and track their progress as part of the college Transdisciplinary Team
- Deliver services in line with Key Performance Indicators
- Develop competence and expertise in delivery of services (Training in Systematic Instruction, employment/occupational areas, employer development, disability and employment law, specific disability expertise, marketing and customer care)
- Maintain and develop high standards in all aspects of the role (service delivery, customer care, communications, quality systems)
- Demonstrate & model best practice job coaching

Ambitious College is a specialist day college for autistic young people aged 16 –25.
The college has two campuses co-located within mainstream colleges in north and west London. These are the Pears Campus at the College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London (CONEL) in Tottenham and the Pears Campus at West Thames College in Isleworth.
At each campus, there is a team of dedicated and passionate professionals including teachers, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, employment specialists, behaviour specialists and specialist support staff. Using the Ambitious Approach to education, they work together to come up with learning and support approaches tailored to the individual.
Through a range of partnerships with local businesses, community groups and mainstream partners, the college also offer opportunities to learn in the community. This combined approach – personalised education, positive support and real work experience – delivers results. It allows young people to achieve their goals, fulfil their potential and go on to lead active lives in their community.
