Job overview
Do you have a passion for inspiring the next generation of engineers and would you like to be part of a world class team of engineering teachers? If so, we have an opportunity that will interest you.
We are seeking to appoint an engaging and inspiring Engineering/D&T Teacher to start with us in January 2024. You will be joining a team of dedicated staff who are passionate about changing young people’s lives by developing them into the engineers and business leaders of the future. This role requires personal and professional commitment and the ability to work successfully as part of a team is essential. You will have responsibility for leading the quality of teaching and learning for learners in your classes. This will involve setting and articulating high expectations for learners and planning and teaching effectively using appropriate resourcing to challenge and engage all learners.
The JCB Academy is innovative, unique and unlike any other school, developing business leaders and engineers from Y9 to Sixth Form and providing Intermediate (level 2) and Advanced (level 3) apprenticeship programmes. We also deliver Business and Engineering T-levels which provide learners with additional qualification choices after their GCSEs. With cutting-edge facilities, world-leading partners and genuine industrial challenges that bring theory to life, our learners are equipped with aptitudes and skills that prestigious apprenticeship providers, universities and global companies look for in future business leaders and engineers.
The JCB Academy provides learners with a unique curriculum developed by the academy and its core partners. Working with the likes of Bosch Rexroth, Harper Adams University, JCB, Rolls‑Royce and Toyota Motor Manufacturing, we ensure that the curriculum is embedded in real industrial practice and includes genuine industrial challenges. Our aim is to provide a world class experience to learners and staff.
We are situated close to Uttoxeter, a picturesque market town supporting a variety of independent shops, cafes and bars. The town is surrounded by characterful villages with an abundance of culture and attractions right on the doorstep. This great value location has quick links to major cities, high quality homes that allow younger people and families to get onto the property ladder and close access to the glorious Peak District.
