Job overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic engineer to join our rapidly growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in our new STEM & Health Center in Bodmin, which opened in September 2023. This role will focus on the delivery of apprenticeships, including taking a lead on assessing in the workplace, liaising with employers and assisting learners in their development. In addition you may be involved with delivering programmes for apprentices and/or and vocational learners along with the responsibility for further developing our qualifications and commercial business in this sector.

The ideal candidate will have a welding/fabrication background, including MIG, TIG and MMA, and should hold professional qualifications in fabrication and welding, to a minimum of level 3.

Preferably, the successful candidate would have relevant and recent industrial experience, hold A1 assessor status (or equivalent) or be willing to work towards this. You will be familiar with awarding bodies such as EAL and C&G, have good understanding of modern manufacturing/ maintenance technology and processes and an ability to motivate, support and encourage learners at all levels. A full clean driving license and your own transport is essential, as a significant part of the role will be to visit employers and apprentices in the workplace.
