We are seeking to appoint a committed individual to lead and oversee the maintenance, repair and development of the College’s Engineering and Welding workshops, machinery and equipment to ensure adequate and safe working conditions at all times as required by the curriculum.
The successful applicant will be required to organise the day-to-day activity of other support staff in the area and oversee the procurement and preparation of materials and equipment, in addition to driving improvements in process and procedure used to maintain the area.
It is essential that applicants have an awareness of programmable logic controllers, pneumatics, hydraulics and mechatronics sensors and actuators, as well as the ability to read and interpret CAD drawings. Prior experience of SolidWorks would be beneficial.
Successful candidates are expected to have an HNC or equivalent professional qualification and experience, as well as the ability to apply lean/5s methodology to mechanical workshop environments. Candidates will need excellent inter-personal skills in dealing with students, staff, and members of the public.
