Glebelands is seeking to appoint an outstanding, innovative and inspirational teacher to fulfil a key role in the school as the second in department for English. This position is a full-time, permanent appointment within the pay range MPS - UPS with the addition of a TLR2.

This is an exciting opportunity for an inspiring classroom practitioner wanting to take the next step in their career development into a leadership role. Job Purpose:

·        To lead on English Literature across the department at both KS4 and KS3

·        To further develop and lead the school reading strategy across the curriculum

·        To support the Head of Department in leading a high-quality curriculum that supports students to make rapid and sustained progress

Glebelands School is a secondary coeducational school, based in Cranleigh, Surrey, for children aged 11 to 16. It is a non-denominational community school that currently educates around 702 pupils. The establishment first opened in July 1959. To celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2009, the school planted 50 trees in local parks at Elmbridge Village and Snoxhall.
