Ecole Massillon is a private Catholic school in Paris under contract to the French National Education system. We have been running a bilingual education program for 17 years and serve more than 350 pupils at the secondary level in the Anglophone section. Many of our graduates go on to top universities in the UK and Canada.

We are currently seeking new talent to enrich the pedagogical team. We are highly demanding in the recruitment of our future colleagues both in terms of qualifications and experience. We are seeking professionals who will also vehicle the values and principles of our school charter.
 
ENGLISH COLLEGE COORDINATOR

The Anglophone Section at Massillon is seeking a qualified and experienced teacher of English Language/Literature at College level. (Year 7-9 UK / Grade 5 to 7 US).  The position is a full-time contract with extra-curricular responsibilities and commitments, beginning in September 2016.

The successful candidate should:

  • be a fluent English speaker.
  • possess a PGCE or university accredited teaching diploma.
  • have experience and expertise in the teaching the 11 to 14 age range (UK Key stage 3) in an Anglophone school or bilingual section.
  • be confident with engaging bilingual pupils through creative, rigorous, and forward-looking teaching strategies.
  • have wide-ranging subject knowledge to contribute to curriculum development and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • enjoy teamwork, collaborating and exchanging practice with colleagues and working within a bilingual educational framework.
  • have experience coordinating a team of teachers, assisting with recruitment, as well as teacher training and development.
  • have excellent communication skills and good knowledge of French.
  • Experience organizing trips and outings would be an advantage.

About Ecole Massillon

 Founded in 1877, Ecole Massillon is a Catholic denominational school in Paris, France. Between primary school, college and general high school, there are 1,379 students on the school roll. The school building was originally constructed as the as the Hôtel d’Herbault. The school newspaper is known as the Les Echos de Massillon. The curriculum is taught in French, and the three language options are German, English, and Spanish. The school motto translates from French as ‘a child is the thing of no one’. 

The school enjoys an artistic surrounding, and the curriculum focuses on the visual and plastic arts. Religious culture is practiced in Massillon in a benevolent climate that combines tolerance and open-mindedness. Sporting activities at Ecole Massillon include gymnastics, football, basketball, swimming, lacrosse, golf, and table tennis.
