Due to an extension of the English Hub project, a fantastic opportunity has arisen for a hardworking, organised and motivated Administrative Officer to join our high performing trust. This would be suitable for somebody with either administrative or events experience with a desire to progress.

The Outwood Institute of Education is a network providing professional development for school staff. It strives to ensure the best outcomes for children in all schools by working together to share outstanding practice and give staff access to world class professional development. We believe that every child is entitled to a world class education.

The Outwood Institute of Education works closely with Outwood Grange Academies Trust to host a wide range of events, training and conferences for all OGAT academies and external customers. The Outwood Institute of Education Yorkshire and the Humber is housed in a purpose-built conference centre on the grounds of Outwood Academy Adwick, Doncaster.

Outwood English Hub supports schools in its region to improve the teaching of early reading. The hub has recently been granted the role of ‘delivery hub’ by the Department for Education and will now be administering additional funding to schools.

This role will provide administrative support for the Outwood English Hub and work closely with the hub’s senior leadership and administration team to ensure effective delivery of the hub’s key performance indicators. The role will also provide administrative support to the wider Outwood Institute of Education activity as needed.

The role is based at the conference centre at Outwood Academy Adwick, Doncaster but time will also be spent working on other school sites in Yorkshire and Humber as required. Please note this position requires driving.

This role involves a range of activities, including:

  • Event management;
  • Management of the English Hub calendar;
  • Resource preparation;
  • Communicating with a wide range of stakeholders both in verbal and written form;
  • Providing administration support for the Outwood English Hub, and for other projects and events as required;
  • Supporting the production of the English Hub’s monthly reports;
  • Supporting the marketing and promotion of the English Hub; and
  • Travel to schools / academies to carry out the above duties, as required by the English Hub Lead.

You will need to be motivated, have excellent organisation and communication skills and be able to prioritise workload and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Normal working hours are 8:00am – 4:00pm on a Thursday and 8:00am – 3:30pm on a Friday.

You will, however, be required to work occasional evenings and Saturdays with prior notice and discussion of availability.

This post is subject to grant funding and therefore is a 1 year fixed term contract in the first instance. However, we expect that the post will become permanent as the hub develops.

The successful candidate will be based at the Outwood Institute of Education, Tenter Balk Lane, Adwick, Doncaster, DN6 7EQ with travel to other schools as required.

About The Outwood Grange Academies Trust (OGAT)

Interim Chief Executive Officer: Lee Wilson

The Outwood Grange Academies Trust was born out of the success of Outwood Grange: a large school with 2,200 students, which has achieved record results for the last decade.

As one of the highest performing Family of Schools in the North of England, we have transformed education and outcomes across a network of 40 primary and secondary academies. Working closely together and sharing best practice, our schools do whatever it takes to ensure that every child, irrespective of starting point, can realise his or her full potential and unique talents.

Whether you’re joining us as a support staff member, an ECT, in a leadership position, and everything in between, we will invest in you and your development throughout your career.

By all working together, supporting and motivating each other, we believe we can raise current standards, and transform the lives of our students. If, as a Trust, we support you to help you reach your potential, we can help ensure all the children you teach will also reach theirs.
