Monash University Foundation Year is a pre-university generalist academic program for international students who aspire to study at Monash University. Based at our Melbourne City campus, our program is developed in conjunction with Monash academics and offers guaranteed entry to the first year of all ten Monash University faculties (upon achieving the required entry score and satisfying degree prerequisites).


About the role

 We are in search for one full time English Teacher and one full time English/Humanities (.5 across English and .5 across Humanities) Teacher to teach on a fixed term basis from the 13th of August until 7th of December 2018. The preferred candidate will have significant experience working with students from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and will have the skills required to address their individual learning needs. 

As one of English/Humanities Teacher, you will provide a high standard of teaching when delivering the Monash University Foundation Year curriculum. You must have an English as an Additional Language (EAL) Qualification and require well developed classroom planning and teaching skills as well as the ability to build and maintain positive relationships across the college. 


Skills and experience required 

· Current VIT registration or Working with Children Check

· An English as an Additional Language (EAL) Qualification 

· Grad. Cert. TESOL/Grad. Dip. in TESOL/Applied Linguistics, or Dip. Ed. (English) approved/awarded by a university, approved by government, or a recognised TESOL program such as the Cambridge Certificate of English Language Teaching to Adults

· Senior secondary, VET College, ELICOS provider or university ESL/EFL teaching experience.

· Excellent subject knowledge and proven ability to integrate technology in the classroom

· Successful involvement in pastoral care programs

· Experience teaching foundation year programs will be highly regarded


Other Information:

· Applicants must be eligible to work in Australia

· Contract: Full time Fixed term, August to December 2018

· Salary: $69,509 - $100,705 plus 9.5% superannuation, dependent upon skills and experience

· Location: Melbourne CBD, occasional travel between campuses may be required

· Labour Day, Queen's Birthday and Melbourne Cup day are normal working days, without penalty payments for time worked. Five days leave (accrued at 1⅔ per public holiday worked) will be granted in lieu, to be usually taken on the days falling between Christmas Day and New Year's Day
