We are seeking to appoint a qualified teacher of English Language and Literature. This role is suitable for an experienced teacher in Key Stages 3 & 4, who can ensure the highest standards of teaching and a commitment to student learning and achievement.

The International Sections of SIS Paris Ouest has been a leader in bilingual education in the Paris area for over 60 years. Embedded in the French National Education system, our international sections serve over 900 families from pre-school to the secondary level in a network of 8 partner schools.

The Anglophone section offers our pupils a highly challenging academic programme leading to the British option of the OIB (French Baccalauréat with an international option) and a rich co-curricular life. Our internationally-minded graduates go on to study in top-ranked universities in the UK, EU, Canada and the USA.

The successful candidate will:

  • be a native level English speaker
  • possess a good degree in English Literature and a PGCE or equivalent (newly qualified teachers are welcome to apply)
  • have close knowledge of learning objectives and assessment of Key Stage 3 and the IGCSE (First Language English and Literature)
  • have wide-ranging subject knowledge to contribute to curriculum development and the teaching of classic and contemporary texts
  • be confident with engaging bilingual pupils through creative teaching strategies, rigorous planning and production of schemes of work.
  • have proven dedication to the progress of pupils and their achievement
  • have excellent collaborative skills, sense of initiative, and enjoy sharing best practice with colleagues
  • be able to adapt to the demands of teaching and working within a bilingual educational framework and communicating in French
  • be enthusiastic about leading school trips and extra-curricular activities
