We are looking for highly motivational and inspirational lecturers to join our Maths and English team. This is an exciting opportunity to join one of County Durham’s leading Further Education providers to help learners on their journey to develop their skills in English.

There are various full/part time roles available on a permanent and fixed term basis, for a maternity cover post until April 2025.

Main Duties of the Role:

Your role will be to deliver an ambitious curriculum to all by delivering GCSE and Functional Skills to mainstream learners across our campuses. You will also be involved in delivering key English skills to students within our Foundation and Engage departments. The post will involve delivering engaging lessons to a diverse group of learners and helping them to make progress with their English skills. We welcome applications from experienced teachers and those who are looking to develop their teaching practice as they start their teaching careers. Essential Requirement:

  • Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy
  • A teaching qualification Cert Ed/PGCE/DTLLS
  • Minimum of Level 3 qualification relevant subject area
  • Degree in relevant subject area What we offer:

About East Durham College (Peterlee Campus)

East Durham College is a mixed, non-denominational community further education college for students aged 16 and over. The college has campuses in Peterlee and Houghall, both located in the south-east of Durham.

The college moved into its new Peterlee Campus in early 2009. However, the roots of the area's predecessor college, Easington Technical College, can be traced back to the 1950s. Across both campuses, EDC has about 5,500 students including those studying both full and part time.
