This is a fantastic opportunity for a committed and inspiring English / Maths teacher to be part of a highly successful school which has high aspirations for all students with SEN. The successful applicant will be an outstanding classroom practitioner with QTS to deliver English / Math’s lessons.
Maplewell Hall School is a special school for students aged 11 to 19 years with moderate learning difficulties and autism. At present there are 210 students on roll. The school is situated in extensive grounds in Charnwood Forest just outside Woodhouse Eaves and is six miles from Loughborough. Maplewell Autism Provision (MAP) opened in September 2016. MAP provides personalised learning for students with high functioning Autism and is designed to support students in reaching their full potential.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive individual who has the ability to apply support strategies where barriers to learning present themselves. You will be able to communicate effectively and have an understanding of the support needs of students within education and the challenges for students making the transition between settings.
- UK QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
- Previous experience of teaching SEN students
- To be a driven and passionate educator
- To be able to diversify learning resources and activities to meet the needs for individual students
- Autism specific qualification
- Self-motivator who can work independently

This post is paid on MPS/UPS + SEN 1 – 2 dependent upon experience and is a full-time, permanent role.
