English Subject Leader

Mount Wise is a ‘Good’ school (Ofsted Nov 14) with ‘Pupils who behave well…..enjoy their work and have positive attitudes to learning…’. We serve a mixed and changing catchment area which is in the heart of the Devonport Regeneration Area which brings with it all the challenges of an inner city school.

We would like to invite an enthusiastic, experienced teacher to join our dedicated, hardworking Leadership Team in September. The post will be a class teaching role in Key Stage Two and will include Subject Leadership for English across the school. This post will not be suitable for a job share position. We are looking to appoint someone who:

• Is an outstanding classroom practitioner
• Has experience of inner city school issues
• Has high expectations of pupils’ behaviour and learning
• Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills with all stakeholders
• Clearly show his/her positive contribution to teaching teams
• Has experience of rigorous and detailed interrogation of performance data
• Can demonstrate a sound understanding of the new English curriculum
• Will make a positive contribution to our school community
