Bespoke Professional Development and Supervision Programme for Teachers    

We are looking to recruit an outstanding English Teacher to join our Education Team.  Glebe House, which is a part of Friends Therapeutic Community Trust, is a residential service for up to 16 teenage males who stay with us on a two year programme of integrated care, therapy and education.  We are a registered, not-for-profit, Charity.

Glebe House is an Independent School and you will play a crucial support role in ensuring we are able to deliver outstanding education to our vulnerable young people so that they can realise their full potential. We believe that accessing high quality education and achieving meaningful outcomes will deliver significant long-term benefits to our students and the wider Community.  We are currently exploring expanding  the ‘school roll’ to up to 25 students in the future.  The successful candidate will join us at an exciting time for our education provision as we strive to ensure that all our students have bespoke, outstanding lessons.   

At Glebe House, we do not currently operate the ‘traditional’ term times of mainstream schools.  

The successful candidate  will have qualified teacher status and have worked in a Secondary School, Pupil Referral Unit or similar establishment.    

You will be a teacher  who  thrives on working with young people with a variety of complex needs.   

The right candidate will have: 

• Experience of teaching functional skills English and English to examination level. 

• An ability to work on own initiative, plan and manage own workload and set and meet targets and deadlines. 

• An ability to liaise and negotiate sensitively, tactfully and diplomatically at all levels. 

• Experience and understanding of working with disaffected young people. 

• Ability to be creative, flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of our students
