Job overview

We are seeking a well qualified and experienced English teacher to teach year 6, 7 and 8 common entrance and scholarship.  An interest in directing drama productions would be advantageous. The successful candidate would be keen to encourage independent reading and critical thinking through debate and speech making. He or she would be willing to oversee the  management of the school library.

A leadership role within the department could shortly be available for the right candidate.

The person appointed should be able to make a strong contribution to the sport and extra-curricular activities and to the busy life of this thriving, academic, boarding  prep school.

Cottesmore has an excellent academic record and the girls and boys sit 13+ Common Entrance and Public School Scholarship examinations each year to schools like Eton, Cheltenham Ladies' College, Harrow, Downe House, Winchester and Benenden.

Cottesmore School is an award-winning academic boarding preparatory school for girls and boys between the ages of 7 and 13 on the border of Surrey and Sussex. We also have a Pre-prep on site for girls and boys aged between 4 and 8.
