Internationella Engelska skolan is a well-established, expanding organisation of independent bilingual schools in Sweden. Our very popular and academically successful school in Täby is located in a Northern suburb of Stockholm with easy access to the city centre. Stockholm is a cosmopolitan and cultural city surrounded by the beautiful archipelago and countryside.

We seek an outstanding and creative English teacher to teach at our senior school in Täby for students aged 13-16. Teaching English at our school is a wonderful opportunity to combine the teaching of both English Language and Literature skills. Our school follows the Swedish National Curriculum for English, as a second language. However, in order to enhance and enrich our English learning we offer the Cambridge IGCSE English as First, Second and ASL level for our students. Our students are very successful in their English studies, achieving annually top results in the IES school organisation and in Sweden.

Are you an experienced teacher of IGCSE English who is interested in developing this further within our school? If you have experience of using Drama in the classroom this would be an interesting area to develop within the team.

This presents an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and passionate teacher of English, as you will be joining a very successful international team with creative and experienced English teachers. We work closely in our departments with subject development so we are looking for a positive and enthusiastic team player wanting to be part of our collegial sharing approach for quality learning at our school.

Our focus on Professional development includes the Cambridge PD for Bilingual Learners and Teaching and Learning. The role includes being a co- mentor to 16 students where we promote regular contact between the school and the home. A knowledge of Swedish or willingness to learn Swedish is of merit as is experience of a bilingual learning environment.
