The English Department delivers a rigorous and diverse curriculum throughout Years 7 – 13. The department teaches Edexcel IGCSE for both Literature and Language and we teach the Edexcel 9ETO course for A-level English Literature. All students take English Language and Literature IGCSE and very pleasing numbers of students go on to study English Literature in the Sixth Form. The department’s results at A-Level in recent years have been strong.
We are seeking to appoint someone who can teach a dynamic and creative teacher of English for KS3, KS4 and KS5. The post would suit either a newly qualified or experienced teacher.
About PHC Hitchin Independent School

The school has a rich history. It was founded in 1820 in London by Princess August and Mrs Sophia Williams as the Adult Orphanage Institute.
