Sutton Tuition and Reintegration Service (STARS) are seeking to appoint a full time, highly skilled English teacher to work with children and young people with medical needs who are unable either temporarily or longer term to access mainstream school.

STARS, judged as outstanding in all areas by Ofsted, works with children and young people with complex medical needs who are unable, either temporarily or longer term, to access their mainstream school. The majority of pupils attend the Drapers Centre in Carshalton where they are able to access the curriculum in small groups in a nurturing and therapeutic setting. Other pupils may receive 1-1 individual tuition at various sites within the London Borough of Sutton including the school room at the Royal Marsden Hospital.This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals wishing to make a real difference to young people’s lives.

If you are an enthusiastic, adaptable and resourceful teacher with a sound knowledge of recent curriculum developments and a strong commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of children and young people, we would welcome your application. Proven ability as a school teacher is essential and experience of teaching at both KS3 and KS4 is desirable.

The role will involve contact with children and the post-holder will be engaging in regulated activity with children.
