Teacher of English (Full Time Position)
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed teacher of English who has a high expectation of students and themselves and who will motivate and inspire pupils to achieve their best.
The Latymer School is an oversubscribed high achieving, but caring Grammar School in North London. Visitors comment on the warm atmosphere and the high levels of participation in extra-curricular activities that encourage students to foster and nurture their skills and interests beyond the confines of the curriculum. The English Department is a thriving and well organised department that is impressively resourced to provide a supportive working atmosphere for staff. Curriculums across all of the key stages seek to challenge and stimulate all students and the department has a consistent record of excellent results with 76% of pupils gaining 7 or above in GCSE English Language and 80% of pupils gaining 7 or above in GCSE English Literature. English is also a popular subject at A Level and students continue to excel with 95% achieving A-B in English Literature and many going on to read English at university.
The post commences in September 2018 or January 2019 and applications are welcome from both experienced and newly qualified teachers able to teach throughout the age and ability range
