Job Description:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Secondary English Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in English language, literature, grammar and composition, along with a genuine enthusiasm for teaching and mentoring students.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons that align with Edexcel curriculum standards.
- Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and empowered to participate.
- Incorporate differentiation and a variety of learning strategies in lessons to meet the diverse needs of all students.
- Assess student progress regularly through various methods including tests, quizzes, projects, discussions and provide constructive feedback to support their growth.
- Foster a love for reading and literature by introducing students to a wide range of literary works from different genres and cultures.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and activities that integrate English language skills with other subject areas.
- Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues and administrators to ensure a collaborative and supportive learning community.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in English Language/Literature or a related field
- Teaching certification – PGCE/QTS
- Proven experience of teaching the English National Curriculum at Key Stage 3-4
- Strong knowledge of English grammar, composition and literary analysis.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Passion for education and a commitment to student success.
