Job Title:  English Teacher

Location:  Groveside School, Reading, Berkshire

Salary:   Up to £40,000 per annum dependent on experience

Hours:    37.5 hours per week; Monday to Friday

Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only

We are excited to introduce a Brand-New School, Groveside School in Reading, Berkshire, due to open in September 2024.

With capacity for 60 pupils between the ages of 7 to 16 years old, Groveside will cater for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs and we require an English Teacher to embark on this exciting journey with us!

We are looking for an English Teacher to start with us in September 2024. 

Purpose of the Job

You will be delivering inclusive, responsive and innovative teaching and learning within the curriculum area of English. You will constantly strive to produce outstanding/good teaching and learning at all times to ensure that all learners succeed. Under the reasonable direction of the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team, carry out the professional duties of a school Teacher as set out in the current School policies.

You will work closely with a literacy intervention team and will work alongside the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team, to put in place intervention to raise standards of literacy for all.

You will be delivering whole school training on English and Literacy strategies and will be held accountable for and hold other accountable for the development of your strategy across the school.

You will teach in accordance with the ethos, organisation and policies of the school as a fully committed member of the teaching team and as detailed in the specific duties and core standards below.

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent.
  • A deeply held conviction that every pupil can achieve and reach their potential.
  • The belief that all pupils deserve a life of choice and opportunity.
  • Ability to be adaptable in a fast-paced extremely environment.
  • Commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all pupils.
  • Ability to support colleagues in developing their practice in relation to the subjects you lead.
