English Teacher  - from September 2017

An exciting full-time opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic teacher of English, to join a dynamic and popular department from September 2017. This post would suit a either an experienced or a newly qualified teacher.  The successful candidate will have the ability to teach across the age range.  An appreciation of the IB Programme would be advantageous as would experience of teaching English as a second language.  A willingness to participate in extra-curricular activities is also required.

Some of the key skills, experience and ability we are seeking in the successful candidate will be a balance of the following:

  • Proven experience in teaching KS3, KS4 and AS/A Level English.
  • The ability to employ a range of effective teaching and learning styles, assessment methods and the ability to use data to inform planning an set targets. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The aim to raise achievement for all through the ability to motivate and inspire students.
  • The ability to establish good working relationships and show effective team work.
  • The ability to generate ideas and drive initiatives.
  • A level of open-mindedness and a forward  thinking approach.
