English Teacher

You will join a dedicated team of English Teachers at a time when the new curriculum provides a wealth of opportunities for developing a passion and love of literature in all forms. Engagement and challenge are both an essential part of lessons within the department and achieving the best results for pupils in our care is a driving force in both our day to day and long term practice.    

The successful applicant will be required to teach both KS3 and KS4.  In 2016 56% of our students gained 5 A*-C including English & Maths, with 81% achieving a C or above in English and 21% achieving A & A*.  This is an exciting time to join us at Walkden and to become part of a team of staff who are collaborative, supportive and enthusiastic about their subject.  

Opportunities for career progression are excellent.  We are willing to offer a Recruitment & Retention allowance for an exceptional candidate with a track record of success.  However, the post is open to NQTs and experienced teachers.
