Job overview

We wish to appoint a talented and inspirational Teacher of English, from 1st September 2019. The post will be permanent, part-time, 0.6 fte. The successful candidate will be able to teach English across the 11-16 age range, including the Language and Literature elements of our current GCSE courses. 

English results are strong and the successful candidate will join a talented and committed team of teachers.

Belvidere is a successful, oversubscribed 11-16 comprehensive school in the county town of Shrewsbury. Visitors often comment on the calm, positive working atmosphere in the school and exam results are excellent, with all student groups making strong progress. In 2013 Ofsted rated the school as “Outstanding” in all areas. In particular Ofsted noted the high staff morale, and staff turnover is traditionally very low at Belvidere.

Based in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, Belvidere School is a co-educational comprehensive secondary school for children aged between 11 and 16. It is a non-denominational community establishment. At present, there are approximately 850 students enrolled at the school.

In Summer 2024 we will be moving into a brand new state-of-the-art school building, which is an exciting development in the life of our school.
